How it all started
It started when my husband of 53 years suddenly passed. I moved in with my daughter in Mississippi and found that I had a lot of time on my hands. My daughter thought it would be nice for us to spend time together doing something creative. Thus, my first beaded pen was created. I gave the pen to my granddaughter and she loved it so much that her friends wanted one too — and before I knew it, I had a little craft table at the local market every weekend.
What began as a hobby quickly became a passion. I taught myself macramé, leather stitching, and ceramic glazing — always chasing that feeling of making something beautiful with my own two hands.
Today, My Mena Makes is a small but mighty one-woman shop. Every piece is made to order, with care and intention, right here in my home studio.

Every piece starts as a sketch in my notebook. I think through materials, colors, and construction before touching a single thread.
Source materials
I hand-pick every material — visiting local suppliers and markets to find the best natural leathers, cottons, and clays.
Craft by hand
This is the heart of it. Hours at my workbench, stitching, knotting, shaping — bringing the design to life.
Quality check & ship
Before anything leaves my studio, I inspect every seam and finish. Then it's carefully wrapped and sent to you with love.
